it was, we do now know it was an suv, a mareno right back there you can see firefighters still out there on the scene firefighters, medical examiner is also out here to remove the bodies police say there were three women inside the suv, and by the time police arrived two of the women were dead only one survived the accident happened just before 3:00 a.m. this morning the suv went off the embankment and slammed into a retaining wall as it came out of a curve on university boulevard, pieces of the car flew into the wires and the tree. the boyfriend of the driver said three friends went out clubbing on their way home they were followed by another friend in another car who witnessed the accident the driver died as well as the 19-year-old in the backseat the survivor, 18 years old is in serious condition investigators are looking into whether speed or alcohol may have been a factor.

>> first, investigators are marking the roadway, seeing the path of travel and trying to determine more about how and why the vehicle left the roadway. once that is completed, they've marked up the road and taken photos measurements and done all the signs for this investigation then they will remove that vehicle with one or more tow trucks. >> that with what they are in the process of doing, moving those bodies and then taking that suv out of here. they will reopen the lanes southbound university boulevard. coming into this area, you can't see it there is an s curve on university boulevard from the markings on the road, by investigators it appears that driver took that curve wide almost went into the on coming traffic, appeared to have swerved back, and that is when they lost control of the car hit that embankment and flew up into the air as far as

facing arson charges in a string of fires in our vanna. investigators say the 16-year- old stole marine flairs from a wal-mart in frederick and used them to set two garages and a wooden deck on fire. all four have been released to their parents custody the charges will be referred to the state department of juvenile justice. >> police are looking for a handful of burglars, breaking into homes in recent months the burglars are stealing electronic devices jewellery, cash and credit cards another surveillance tape seen here shows one suspect trying to sell one of the stolen computers police are asking anyone who may recognize this man to give them a call. you won't be able to raise a glass at third edition this new years eve the popular bar and night club had its liquor license suspended friday after being cited for failing to check ids and serving minor. third edition will be closed five days starting tomorrow it

is it really about public safety or an easy way for the district to generate revenue. dc is making more money than ever by handing out an average of 5300 tickets a day. kristin nevilles joins us to talk about this issue good morning. >> so what do you thing it is? both an issue, that yes, trying to enforce rules or just trying to gain revenue or is it both. >> we think a little bit of both for one there is just not enough spots in the city for the number of people that come in. we are looking at over a million people that come into

the city both tourists, workers and just not enough space for them to park. and also, the type of money that is being raised it looks like the city is just trying to take in extra money for their expenses. >> mm-hmm so but you also were saying too you think that what needs to be done here is just an issue of more public parking more garages or parking lots, how do you do that with the space at a premium as it is in washington dc what is triple-as thought behind this. >> well, not necessarily only garages but maybe even more metered spots. not a problem with the metered spots the problem is there is not enough so people are over staying quote unquote over staying their welcome and that is where the tickets are coming in. >> they have now started putting in the boxes where you can use your credit card and you can also use aps mobile aps to try to pay can't people do that, you know, i guess, stop them staying over their limit if they can pay from a remote

location where they are is that not the purpose. >> that is helping out a lot i actually use that ap all the time when i am in the city so far so good i haven't gotten any tickets cross my fingers but that is helping out with people not getting as many tickets that is something, encouraging news and something people should try to take more advantage of. >> are you anticipating the numbers we have right now are that the revenue we don't know so far for this past fiscal year but from what i was reading from what triple-a was putting together you are on track looks like to top what they have gotten before, they were 80 million. >> 80 million last year 50 million in may of this year like you said the numbers have not been put out this past fiscal year which ended in september but we are looking to top that 80 million mark because last fiscal year the 70 million mark from 2009 was topped. >> what do you really think is going to solve the problem or

are taking in. so, it is a concern we think the money is being used maybe not necessarily for public safety issues, as we know cities across the nation are in economic tumble we feel the money is probably being used to help the city more so, than to help the residents. >> how do you thing that is hurting people where do you think -- you said public safety what do you thing are things that need to be done or upgraded public safety wise for the city with that money. >> streets, more physical patrol maybe not just camera patrol, um, crashes you know watching out for crashes just general safety public safety transportation safety. >> obviously this is an issue a lot of people can sympathize with we have all gotten a ticket on our windshield a time or two we see they are raking in the money hopefully it will go the right way and you guys

a good holiday season for retailers americans spent more than $35 billion online this year. but are they spending too much. the fox business network's adam shapiro has more. yet another sign american consumer is returning in full force and once again t online retailers are cashing in. >> very good news they are feeling better but you have to remember, that this is consumer confidence index up from the depth >> according to come score u.s. consumers spent more than $35 billion online over the holidays, that is after consumer confidence reached an 8 month high in december. in all, internet sales for november 1st through the day

really nice green plant. >> the other thing is, just trying to protect the plants you have right now with the cold. >> lit dip down next week things like this gardenia, a broad leafed evergreen, it does not lose its leaves and has a big leaf not a carnivorous leaf, you can repurpose your christmas tree greens i took the wreath not the wreath but garland and wrapped the pot and then for the cold temperatures coming up, you can actually take the greens, and create a little bit of a tepee around the plants what that will do is going to create a wind break, so when those strong north winds come in, the plants aren't going to get wind burn. >> let's say you didn't have these the real tree what else could you use to do that. >> the other thing you could use is leaves i've piled up leaves and things like that in

the garden you can pile up around it basically create a wind barrier for those -- yeah, that is a good thing to do now what about those holiday center pieces? it is time to take those apart most of them created you can repurpose that as compost also the stump from your tree when you cut all the boughs off the use in your landscape save this let it weather next season use it for fire wood. >> okay >> it is a great great recycling thing the other thing is that if you are going to recycle your tree most municipalities have a recycling program make sure you check with them and get it out in time otherwise it will go into the landfill. >> or grind it up yourself. >> now what i have got here sarah is some compost already started to break down, got some leaves from the garden. i've got a little bit of mulch and then some garland trimmings

what we will do is this is from the tree we've completely cut that up into 1 inch segments with the garlands take that, and you can just cut that up like i say in a 1 inch segment or so is what you want to do now with compost what you need is greens, and you need carbon,. >> where is carbon. >> it is in muller, in the leaves, it is in -- mulch, in the leaves, it is in the leaf muller greens will be your christmas tree. >> you you get your hands direty while i sit here and tell you what to do. >> right now what is going to happen compost actually cooks, what happens is,. >> it gets warm >> it will get warm you may see it smoking and that's okay because what you want to do. >> okay. >> not smoking like a smoker but a compost pile but what you want to do is make sure you have a good blend of carbon is

the forefront of a movement, a musical revolution, has it been amazing for you to witness over the years, where rap and hip hop have gone and how dominant hip hop culture has become? >> that is exactly what it was amazing. just amazing so many stories i have to tell, you know, so many miracles i've seen, just the people that i've met from james brown to bob marly to michael jackson, i mean, just an incredible, incredible career, incredible time we had back in those early 80s. >> when you were starting out in the late 70s early 80s did you have and things got going did you have an awareness wow this is something really new that we are popularizing or were you just trying to make some records. >> no, definitely i knew that this thing was something that

you. >> the religious part has always been with me but i really got serious about ten years ago, starting to read the bible and then i started going to church and then i got saved out in california, with pastor jack hayford many know him out there, and so i started doing bible studies then eventually i went to school, and studied theology, and became a minister. >> tell me about the cd hip hop church volume one what can people expect >> the cd just expresses what the hip hon church is about, it is a basic fore mat for any church any church can have a hip hop church service, basic church service on any given sunday but we will do it middle of the week wednesday, thursday, fridays, and it is a youth ministry, music, youth
